Aetrex Fit Philosophy
The 5 pillars of health
1.
Aim for success in 3 dimensions
For an optimal fit, all aspects of the foot must be taken into account: dorsal, plantar, anterior, posterior, medial and lateral.
2.
Create an equal distribution of pressure
An optimal fit provides an equal distribution of pressure throughout the gait cycle. This can be achieved by full contact and transfer of pressure away from high pressure areas.
3.
Provide alignment and support
An optimal fit reduces overpronation and helps provide proper body alignment. Helping the foot stay near the neutral position of the subtalar joint will also prevent overstretching of the plantar fascia and reduce stress on the knees, hips, and back.
4.
Offer personalization and protection through materials technologies
An optimal fit protects the foot by customizing and providing cushioning and shock absorption. Choose orthotic materials that don't fight against the foot, but rather conform or yield during the impact phases of the gait cycle.
5.
Recognize that the shoe is a variable
Sizing between brands and styles is never consistent, and the best way to achieve an optimal fit is by trying on different sizes or by using machine learning technologies that address the fit characteristics of certain styles. The thickness of the socks can also influence the fit, and customers should be informed of this whenever possible.
